Then and now – a stable family business

Fronius remains, as it has always been, a stable family-owned business. Today Fronius is managed by Elisabeth Engelbrechtsmüller-Strauß, and has now been in family ownership for three generations. The values that were important to her grandfather Günter Fronius remain part of Fronius’ culture today.

We have a solid and a diverse business with our three pillars of battery charging technology, welding technology and solar energy.

A global network with Austrian roots

From our strong roots in Austria we have developed a global presence – we are represented around the world by over 30 national Fronius companies. The Business Unit Solar Energy is an important part of over 20 of these.

In addition, with our worldwide partner network of sales and Fronius Service Partners in more than 60 countries, we can ensure that experts are always close by to provide local support for our customers.

The connection to our Austrian roots is also reflected in our “Made in Austria” quality promise. As an Austrian family business, we are particularly proud of our sustainable research and production in Upper Austria.

We can back up our claim to offer the highest quality with tests performed under extreme conditions. Our comprehensive endurance tests go far beyond the prescribed standards and routine operating conditions. Only when a device is able to withstand the external influences of extreme temperatures, moisture, ice, salt, dust and dirt without damage will it go into series production.

We recognized early on what is important to us and have been working intensively with solar technology and other innovative topics such as hydrogen since the 1990s. Our many years of work and experience in the field of sustainable energy solutions have made us the innovation leader.
